You typically stay late at school to get everything done.
-
It feels impossible to be prepped for the next day without taking work home.

There’s ALWAYS a last-minute meeting, parent conference, or request that takes priority over your planning time.

In case we haven't met...

Hi, I'm Stephanie!
It wasn’t that long ago when I used to spend almost every night and weekend putting together lesson plans, emailing parents, and feeling totally overwhelmed with all that I had on my plate.
That was before I knew how to find creative ways to organize my time, so I could be fully present with my students at school and then with my family at home. Now, my work schedule is 7:30 AM - 3 PM and work stays at work. I have schedules, tools, and systems that help me manage my time effectively during those hours so that I’m not leaving school with piles of tasks waiting for me when I return the next day.
Getting there wasn’t easy, but it’s definitely been worth it.
There is so much that falls outside of our control as teachers. Often we don’t get to choose when meetings are scheduled when lesson plans are due, or when grades need to be posted.
And on the days that you don’t get to even look at your to-do list until after dismissal, it feels impossible to get everything done.
But here's the good news my friend...
THERE IS STILL SO MUCH THAT IS IN YOUR CONTROL THAT YOU CAN LEVERAGE TO BECOME THE TEACHER YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE.
You chose this profession because you wanted to make a difference and use your unique abilities to serve your students. You deserve to have structures in place that will protect your passion for teaching so that you can show up in your classroom as the best version of yourself.
